Les Chemins de Saint-Martin

This European cultural route traces the story of the rise of the body of St. Martin, Bishop of Tours (316 – 397), from Candes-Saint-Martin to Tours (114 km). There are three trails in Touraine which then extend throughout Europe, to other Martinian landmarks:

Here and there along the trails of St Martin within the Bourgueil area

Carte Au détour des chemins de Saint Martin en Bourgueillois

The Way of the Summer of St. Martin traces the rise of the body of St. Martin, from Candes-Saint-Martin to Tours (114 km). The Pays de Bourgueil is crossed by this route in Chouzé-sur-Loire and La Chapelle-sur-Loire. From the trail of the Summer of St. Martin, a 53 km loop now provides access to Continvoir, a town known for its martinien heritage. All along the pathway, on foot, by bike or on horseback, learn about the Loire Valley heritage within the Pays de Bourgueil: winemaking, nature, history and architecture.
